Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Hounsou are the proud parents of a brand new baby boy!

The Baby Phat CEO, 34, announced the big news on Twitter in a post on Saturday that says, "It's a boy! Thanks to everyone out there for all your well wishes!"

"Both mother and child are doing great," a rep for Kimora Lee Simmons tells PEOPLE.

Although a name and details of the birth have yet to be released, Simmons promised there will be "more to come" in her Twitter update – and there's reason to believe she'll keep her word.

Simmons took to Twitter to tell her followers, "It's time !! No turning back! At hospital in labor right now!!"

In another update, she posted a photo of herself at the hospital and later wrote, "Having contractions now! Ooo-wee! It's like WHOA!"

The new addition joins Ming Lee, 9, and Aoki Lee, 6 ½, Kimora's daughters with Russell Simmons. The newborn boy is the first child for Amistad star Hounsou, 45.

He didn't get the maximum sentence, but Phil Spector may be spending the rest of his life behind bars regardless.
The 69-year-old Grammy-winning, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-sanctioned music producer was sentenced to 19 years to life in prison today for the February 2003 shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson.
It's the same amount of time prosecutors were seeking for the man whose trademark Wall of Sound backed bands from the Ronettes to the Righteous Brothers to the Beatles.

Tone Loc Passes Out Doing His "Wild Thing"

Posted by Chrisbydemand On 4:02 PM 0 comments

Maybe Tone Loc had a little too much of that funky cold medina.
The "Wild Thing" rapper was hospitalized overnight in Florida after collapsing during a gig at a Pensacola Beach hot spot.
Per the Pensacola News Journal, the 43-year-old MC, whose real name is Anthony Terrell Smith, was into the sixth song of his set shortly after midnight at the Capt'n Fun Beach Club when he passed out onstage. Emergency medical personnel were called to the scene and he was taken by ambulance to Gulf Breeze Hospital. He was released this morning.
Team Tone chalked up the fainting spell to jet lag and heat-related exhaustion.
"Leading up to the show, Tone had flight problems including long layovers," manager Bobby Bessone said in a statement. "It took him about 12 hours to get to Pensacola from Burbank. Tone was exhausted and very hot onstage, and became ill because of it."
Temperatures were reported to be in the low 80s with humidity at 87 percent.
Aside from scraping his elbow during his fall, the rapper is feeling A-OK and discussing make-up dates with the club's owners.

Twitterless Eve: Not Tweeting About Chris Brown!

Posted by Chrisbydemand On 3:52 PM 0 comments
Don't believe tabloid claims that Eve has taken to her Twitter page to bash Chris Brown.
Reports surfaced earlier today that the rapper-actress has been blasting the alleged Rihanna-beater with some emotionally charged and strongly worded tweets.
"He's guilty until proven innocent and no man should ever raise a hand to a woman," one of the tweets says. "I'm so sick of people kissin' his ass."
Problem is Eve isn't a member of Twitter Nation.
"Eve doesn't Twitter—ever!" her rep tells me. "It is not her who tweeted about Chris Brown."
Eve's camp is currently working on trying to get the fake Twitter page taken down.

Issuing a condemnation of Kentucky Fried Chicken's recent Boneless Variety Bucket commercials, the Federal Communications Commission on Tuesday fined the fast food giant $600,000 and ordered it to discontinue all broadcasts containing "false and misleading suggestions" that its heated chicken products are intended for consumption."KFC's claim that its fried offerings have 'that taste you'll just love to eat' is in direct violation of federal regulations," acting FCC chairman Michael Copps said. "The word 'eat' is legally permissible only in reference to substances appropriate for human consumption. Any implication that a consumer could or should 'enjoy' a KFC Crispy Strip fails to meet these standards, and presents an unlawful deception to consumers."

"Any future appeals by KFC for the public to ingest its products will be met with swift legal action," he added.

Working in conjunction with the Federal Trade Commission to defend consumers from what they call "blatant untruths regarding the edibility of KFC menu items," officials at the FCC have issued a list of acceptable words and phrases the restaurant can use in its television and print ads. While "eat," "feast on," and "taste" remain off-limits, the FCC has approved the use of "purchase," "be near to," "look at," and "hold."Federal officials have also placed strict regulations on what actors within the ads can be shown doing with the breaded objects, so as to reduce the risk that viewers may become confused and attempt to ingest a KFC Snacker.

In keeping with the false advertising subchapter of the FTC Act of 1914, the fast food chain is prohibited from setting its commercials in a kitchen, dining room, or any space generally associated with the act of eating. It is also not permitted to show people chewing, rubbing their stomachs contentedly, or exiting a bathroom stall with a look of relief that suggests they have digested the product. Utensils of any kind are also expressly forbidden, even when held by an animated character.

"At no point should these commercials depict persons willfully placing KFC items anywhere within the designated 'eating zone,'" said Copps, referring to the federally defined area extending in an 8-inch radius around the mouth. "Nor should individuals be seen manipulating the chicken in a manner that may bring it into contact with their lower facial region, or the lower facial region of a child or companion animal. In fact, children under the age of 8 are not allowed to appear in the ads in any form."

In compliance with the FCC's orders, KFC executives have pulled the offending ads from television airwaves.

"We are cooperating fully with the federal government to ensure all our future ad campaigns comply with official guidelines," KFC spokesperson Mark Dunn told reporters before conferring briefly with FCC agents. "Remember, we still offer many great-looking, purchasable things—such as our Extra Crispy legs and wings—and we invite everyone to come on down and obtain them for whatever use they deem appropriate."

KFC advertisers are reportedly still in negotiations with authorities over whether the word "consumables"—a term that can encompass any product that must be replaced periodically, such as brake pads or swimming pool chlorine—is an allowable substitution for "food."

In the meantime, the restaurant chain has begun work on a series of commercials for its new Honey BBQ Boneless Wings. An early cut of the first TV spot features grainy, black-and-white footage of stylish automobiles, lush forests, people standing at a safe distance from a KFC bucket and smiling, chicken being slaughtered, and a gallon of barbecue sauce being slowly drizzled over a fire.

C-Murder To Be Sentenced To 10 Years

Posted by Chrisbydemand On 10:14 PM 0 comments
Rapper C-Murder has pleaded no contest to attempted murder charges.

The rapper, whose real name is Corey Miller, plead out to two counts of attempted second-degree murder will be sentenced to 10 years in prison in a deal with the state at the recommendation of the prosecutor.

Miller will also receive credit for time served in jail since August 2001.

Miller’s trial began today and the 38-year-old rapper was accused of trying to shoot the owner of Club Raggs, a venue in Baton Rouge, and a bouncer at Plank Road nightclub in August 2001.

A no-contest plea is nearly the same as a guilty plea in criminal court, but does not mean an individual has admitted to guilt in a civil court case.

Circuit City Is Back From The Dead

Posted by Chrisbydemand On 8:40 AM 0 comments
One of the biggest and most relevant victims of this "global economic downturn" (at least to us) was Circuit City. The electronics chain closed its doors late last year, but its Web site has recently re-opened, showing that the company, at least in name, is not dead yet.

Circuit City is now owned by Systemax Inc, who has pledged to re-open the brand with better service, shipping, selection and lower prices. Of course, every company says that. Still, they're selling Kung Fu Panda on DS for a mere $20.99. I'm sure you're all rushing to order that little beauty. That Panda, he loves his Kung Fu.

Welcome back, Circuit City

The 4-year-old daughter of boxing legend Mike Tyson was in "extremely critical condition" after she was injured in a treadmill accident at her home in Phoenix, Arizona, police said. Exodus Tyson was found by her 7-year-old brother on a treadmill "with her neck on ... a cable" attached to the machine, police said in a statement.

The mother "took her daughter off the cable" and called authorities, according to police.

Former world heavyweight champion Tyson traveled from Las Vegas, Nevada, to Phoenix where his daughter was on life support in critical condition on Monday, police said. The family issued a statement through New York city public relations firm 42West.

"The Tyson family would like to extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks for all your prayers and support, and we ask that we be allowed our privacy at this difficult time," it read.

The 42-year-old Brooklyn-born Tyson became the youngest world heavyweight champion in history when he lifted the World Boxing Council title aged 20.

Tyson also won the WBA and IBF versions of the crown during a career that was littered with controversy including disqualification for biting Evander Holyfield's ear during a 1997 title rematch.

He retired from the sport in 2005, but was back in the news this month with the U.S. release of the film "Tyson," a documentary that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last year.

Charles Hamilton and girlfriend Briana Latrise have issued a joint public apology for last week’s emcee battle that resulted in Latrise punching the Harlem rapper in the face.

In a viral clip released last week, Charles Hamilton was shown taunting a visibly agitated Latrise about having to pick him up from the airport.

Briana Latrise then challenged her boyfriend to a battle, launching several bars that seemed to allude to her volatile relationship with Hamilton.

The Harlemite responded with a rhyme that boasted about unprotected sex with Latrise that resulted in an alleged abortion.

These words caused her to cut Hamilton off mid-rhyme with a sneaky, thudding straight right to the jaw.

Subsequently, the clip received massive attention and debate amongst fans about whether it was publicity stunt.

Recently, both Hamilton and Latrise returned to camera to clarify their current status.

“Apparently people got it twisted,” Hamilton stated after hugging his woman. “I apologize honestly for putting some things out there that shouldn’t have been out there. I understand it; it was the heat of the moment and I didn’t get the chance to really talk to you about it. I just wanted to tell you I apologize because I know what I shouldn’t have said.”

Latrise acknowledged her role in the incident, and accepted Hamilton’s response while promising to keep their relationship issues a private matter.

“I’m going to thank you for your apology. I’m going to apologize for acting outside of the norm,” Latrise explained. “We’re going to talk about our personal business, on our personal time.”

Charles Hamilton has kept a busy schedule this year, releasing several mixtapes: Well Isn’t This Awkward, Every Charles Hamilton Ex-Girlfriend’s Worst Nightmare, My Brain Is Alive, The Dead Zone, At Most I’m Just…, and The Binge Vol. 1 (Staring At The Lavalamp) .

His debut album, This Perfect Life, is set to be released digitally on June 23 through Interscope.

Konami has been mercilessly teasing gamers with its upcoming Kojima Productions-related announcement. Following a two-page teaser ad taken out in last week's Famitsu, the publisher launched a teaser site proclaiming that a big reveal was in store for May 18. When that date rolled around on Monday, however, gamers were greeted with a new countdown timer--which is set to expire at 6 p.m. PDT today--as well as a cryptic block character that could just as easily be an "S" as a "5."Now, despite Konami's efforts to keep gamers on edge, it appears as if the publisher's grand scheme has been trumped by an advertisement for the July issue of Famitsu PSP + PS3. According to the online database of 7&Y, better known as the Japanese wing of convenience-store chain 7-11, the cover story for the PlayStation-focused magazine will be a "new Metal Gear." The magazine is expected to go on sale May 30.

Konami had not responded to requests for comment on whether the Metal Gear title in question relates to its current teaser campaign. The listing also does not indicate whether the new title will be for Sony's flagship console or the PSP, which has seen such system-exclusive titles as Metal Gear Acid and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops.

Given the Sony-specific nature of the magazine, the listing also calls into question recent rumors that indicate that Konami's impending announcement pertains to an Xbox 360 edition of the publisher's top-rated Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. The game--titled Metal Gear Solid 4 + Oxide--was said to be Microsoft's show-stopper during its Electronic Entertainment Expo press conference, which takes place on June 1.

We spotted Korean manufacturer UMID's new MID back in November, but now it's finally seeing release, with a few changed specs and a $599 pricetag. But it probably won't change MID-haters' minds.

Occupying that perennially awkward space between a smartphone and a netbook, the mbook M1, like the Viliv S5, packs standard netbook components into a teeny space while remaining too large to be pocketable. It's a nice enough design, and the price is fair, but the sacrifices made to keep the gadget small are sure to annoy owners. Everything's been miniaturized: The headphone jack is a 2.5mm rather than the standard 3.5mm, and it includes only a mini-USB port, so you'll need an adapter for both audio and hardware input. Even the expansion slot has been miniaturized from the cheap and ubiquitous SDHC to micro-SDHC. The 16GB version will run you $599, and doubling your storage will cost an extra $150.It includes the standard Windows XP, Intel Atom 1.33MHz proc, a 16/32GB SSD, and 512MB of memory, with a 4.8" WVGA touchscreen at a reasonable 1024x600 resolution. In short, it's just about exactly the same guts as the Viliv S5, except with a keyboard and without the standard-size ports. Tiny, yes, but if you're not already pro-MID, the mbook M1 isn't going to convince you.

Kiefer Sutherland Assault Charge May Be Dismissed

Posted by Chrisbydemand On 5:07 AM 0 comments
Kiefer Sutherland and the alleged victim of a headbutting incident have resolved their differences, clearing the way for an assault charge against the actor to be dismissed.

Sutherland apologized to fashion designer Jack McCollough, who had claimed the 24 star broke his nose in a scuffle at a New York nightclub May 5.

"I am sorry about what happened that night and sincerely regret that Mr. McCollough was injured," Sutherland said in a joint statement released to the Associated Press.

McCollough said in the statement: "I appreciate Mr. Sutherland's statement and wish him well," according to AP.

The resolution of their differences increases the chances the Manhattan District Attorney will ask the judge that the case be dropped. Sutherland, 42, was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. Sutherland's next scheduled court is June 22.

Sutherland, who's currently serving a five-year probation term for a second DUI conviction, may not be off the hook with L.A. prosecutors, who've stated their intention to review the New York case as a possible probation violation and could seek possible jail time.

"We have requested the incident report from NYPD and we will assess the situation when we have all the available information," L.A. City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan tells PEOPLE.

Nick Cannon Ends War of Words With Eminem

Posted by Chrisbydemand On 4:48 AM 0 comments
Nick Cannon has ended his racial rant against Eminem despite the rapper's inability to accept or respect the controversial comments Slim Shady made on a song about his wife, Mariah Carey.

Discussing his feelings on Em, Nick also explained the reason behind taking down his detailed blog posting which called out the rapper.
"I felt like I said what I had to say," Cannon said in an interview. "I didn't take [the post] down, like, Oh, somebody instructed me to do it or anything like that. It was just one of those things, like, I said it. [The traffic] pretty much crashed my site. There'd be thousands and thousands of comments and people couldn't leave comments on other posts or any of that stuff. So that was the only reason why I took it down...I feel exactly the same way by it and stick by everything, but I think it's one of those things where it becomes that it's not really that big of a deal...I feel that my relationship with my wife is one of the best things -- or the best thing -- that's ever happened to me, and it has nothing to do with celebrity or this industry. It's all about, you know, just love and finding love and being happy and respecting the union that it is...I never even considered it as beef. It's not beef. It's just, Hey, I heard the record. I said what I had to say." (Entertainment Weekly)
Speaking with radio personality Tim Westwood earlier this month, Em admitted his anti-Mariah lyrics on "Bagpipes From Baghdad" may have gone too far.
"As a kid [I had a crush on Mariah], definitely," Em revealed. "With the song 'Bagpipes From Baghdad,' there's a line on there, I mean, I kinda spazed out on that record but I guess I spazed out on every record. There's a line on there that was a little harsh, you know, it's a harsh line, it was pretty intense on the swag level but you know man, the way I look at it, I said it, I had no idea he was going to take it like he took it. I had no idea Nick Cannon was gonna start wildin' out on me. No pun intended. I heard about some of the things he was saying, I didn't read his blog or anything. It is what it is, he's supposed to defend his wife. I expected him to do that. But at the end of the day, it's a line I said, I meant to say I wish them the best. That's what I meant to say...I didn't plan on taking it [to battling], hopefully it doesn't, but you know, it is what it is." (Tim Westwood TV)
Busta Rhymes recently shared his thoughts on both Em and Mariah.
"Leave Mariah Carey alone," Busta said in an interview. "That's my friend, man...At the end of the day, I don't know what their situation was, so I can't really speak on it....I don't even understand why this sh*t is resurfacing again. But for whatever it's worth, I just hope they could be cool." (Rap-Up)
Despite Busta's criticism, Em found support from DJ Whoo Kid.
"One of the main reasons [he's popular] is he f*cked Mariah Carey," Whoo Kid said in an interview. "That's hot right there. No condom too? What. He peed on her and everything too. He was like the first R. Kelly situation. He's actually against Nick Cannon. I don't see Nick Cannon really going back at him 'cause he's like the weirdo of the hip-hop community 'cause he married this girl for nothin'. For money I guess. He's like the reverse gold digger or something, I don't know. That's what they call him now, so." (Opie & Anthony)
